Pooling Interests

Thanks to the initiative and leadership of Krieger School student Juliana Galan '06, the first annual European Swim Classic premiered with a splash on October 7 and 8. The event involved more than 350 club-level swimmers from 8 European Union member states and Switzerland. An international studies major, now completing her Hopkins MA at Sciences Po in France, Galan conceived of the event as a way to strengthen the sense of European Union citizenry among participating swimmers.
